Introduction
The Centre for Human Rights, Obafemi Awolowo University consists of a team of students, originally formulated in February, 2018.
The objective of the Centre is to address human rights violations in two phases; violations in the community as well as domestic violations within the University. These, it plans to achieve through the twin approach of “advocacy” and “sensitisation”.
The Centre’s zeal to address these issues has enabled its engagement in small scale human right issues to the very limits of its resources. This is the amount it realises from donations from a number of its members.
We are passionate about advocacy, research as well as humanitarianism- this we believe forms the very core of human rights. We have also encouraged the establishment of a Human Rights group at the University of Rwanda- which is in tandem with our broad-based, homogenous approach towards addressing human right issues on the continent.
